Pick up from your hotel confirmed 24hours before starting time. Therefore we will start our journey by leaving the green leafy suburb, we proceed passing Johannesburg CBD. We will drive past the industrial side of Booysens, Booysens is located southwest of Johannesburg.

After pick-up, we travel to Houghton exploring the Northern suburbs of Johannesburg along the way. Upon arrival, we stop for a photo opportunity overlooking Johannesburg from the top. Houghton a collection of neighboring suburbs among old and beautiful houses in Johannesburg. It also stands as home to the late Nelson Mandela residential who had died at his Houghton home in December 2013, following the days of his death the street had become a site of thousands of South Africans paying their late respects.

Arrive at Constitutional Hill proceed and enjoy an hour guided tour conducted by the site representative. Learn more about the journey of democracy in South Africa, the site is a former prison that houses the Soweto Uprising and the apartheid activists such as Nelson Mandela before he was sent to Robben Island.

On route to Main Street where we will learn about the Mining District, we drive past Mandela Bridge linking Braamfontein and Newtown business areas.

An hour of open-air museum tour at Main Street within the heart of Johannesburg corporate district also homes to offices of some world's largest mining companies. Explore the mining district and learn more about the seven blocks of this pedestrianized main street.

As we travel to Gold Reef City for a guided Gold Mine Tour, Gold Reef City has since been themed “gold rush” because of the discovery of gold in 1886, this gold was discovered in the 1800s in Johannesburg. The buildings and style try to portray those moments where people around South Africa and the world at large rushed into Johannesburg. Opened Saturday and Sunday only.

We view FNB Soccer Stadium known as Soccer City built carrying a great element of “Calabash or African Pot” located in Nasrec out of Soweto.

We continue to stop for photo opportunities at the “Welcome To Soweto” sign in Diepkloof. As we proceed through Diepkloof expensive houses known by the locals as “Diepkloof Expensive”, we encounter a hostel build for Black Men mostly populated by the Zulu tribe. The hostels still keep the old bricks that were used to build houses in Soweto and pit latrines used by 5 families or more. We continue driving past Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital was later renamed in 1997 in honor of a hero struggle who fought alongside Nelson Mandela for democratic change in South Africa. 

Thereafter we make way to Hector Peterson Museum, honoring the Soweto Uprisings on 16 June 1976. Those hundreds of children and youth lost their lives while protesting against the Apartheid education system. 

Proceed to Vilakazi Street a well-known street for local restaurants and home to two Nobel-Prize winners namely the late first black South African President Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Visit the Nelson Mandela House where he spent a couple of nights upon his release after 27 years of imprisonment with his late former wife Winnie Mandela. Orlando West also stands as one of the townships in South Africa which fought against the difficulties of apartheid.

After an experience at Vilakazi Street, we continue to Kliptown passing through Maponya Mall named after Soweto’s big businessman Richard Maponya. As we arrive at Kliptown where the first residents were located. 3000 people gathered in 1955 to write The Freedom Charter, a statement regarded by many as the most progressive in the world. Thereafter we proceed to informal settlements of Kliptown where our local representative Nkuli the owner of a shelter named The Shark. Guests will be guided through the local area and interacting with the locals sharing their stories and Africa Beer.

After the amazing experience in Soweto and its rich history, we continue to drop off guests at their pick-up location.
