The guests will be collected by our guide by the hotel communal area at 09:00 am, embark on this amazing tour filled with fun historical culture & safari in one basket.

Our first stop will be at FNB Soccer Stadium referred as the “Calabash or African Pot” located in Nasrec out of Soweto, the iconic stadium is the largest venue in South Africa & hosted the biggest sports & music events, as well as the opening & closing ceremonies of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. 

We will proceed to the heart of Soweto, driving pass Baragwanath Hospital the largest hospital located in Diepkloof & was built in 1942 for convalescing British & Commonwealth soldiers. Our first stop in Soweto is at Motsoaledi informal settlement formally known as Mandela Village, we will take a walk with our representative for a tour around the area & meet the locals.

We then continue through Orland West passing through the Freedom Square to Regina Mundi Church, the church played 2 important roles including the meetings of the Soweto Uprising & Archbishop Desmond Tutu took over the Truth & Reconciliation Commission hearing from 1995 to 1998 where held at the church.

Thereafter we visit Hector Pieterson Museum located on Khumalo Street in Orlando West, guests will look at the important scenes & watch footage of the uprising struggle that took place on 16 June 1976.

Proceed down to Vilakazi Street home to two iconic Nobel-Prize winners Nelson Mandela & Archbishop Desmond Tutu, visit the Nelson Mandela House where he spent his first nights upon his release after 27 years imprisonment & enjoy leisure time shopping, & the entertainment from the locals. Thereafter enjoy lunch at the local restaurant best recommended by your guide.

After this fun-filled experience of Soweto, we will make way to Lion & Safari Park located within the historic Cradle of Humankind north of Johannesburg. The park is home to wildlife & bird species, upon arrival guests will embark on a shared 1-hour safari game experience in an open 4x4 vehicle. After the game drive, return to the Cub World & spend time with the young cubs as well as other animals at the center.
