Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at Cape Town International Airport
Arrive at Cape Town International Airport as per your own
arrangement at TBC, you will be met by your driver/guide for a transfer to your
hotel in Cape Town. Upon arrival at Victoria and Alfred Hotel, check-in for 4
nights on a bed and breakfast basis. Rest of the day leisure.
Day 2: Full Day Cape of Good Hope
After pick-up and briefing of the tour, we make a quick stop
in the historic Bo-Kaap to see the colorful houses and discover the history.
Thereafter, we proceed to drive along the coast. Upon reach, at Camp's Bay
Beach we see the beautiful Beverly Hills of Cape Town known as Camps Bay. An
opportunity of pictures and vies of the Twelve Apostles. Embark on a 40 minutes
boat trip to an inhabited more than 5 thousand cape fur seals. The boat trip is
weather depended. After the boat experience, we drive on to the famous
Chapman's Peak drive. The mountainside road is known as Chappies it is an
engineering masterpiece. The Chapman's peak drive meanders for 9km along the
giant Chapman's peak mountains that drop into the ocean like an avalanche. You
will also have an opportunity to stop for photos and enjoy the views. We make a
stop at the Southern end of Chapman's Peak at a farm village that boasts raw
juice, the best-roasted coffee in the area as well as small shops. Just 200m
before Cape Point Nature Reserve there is an Ostrich Farm. Guests will have an
opportunity for a quick stop along the road for pictures. Explore Cape Point
Nature Reserve is home to the most southwestern corner of Africa. High in
vegetation and animal species making the nature reserve a biodiversity hotspot.
Upon reach at the Cape of Good Hope, an optional hike or funicular ride to the
3rd oldest Cape Point Lighthouse and experience a 360-degree view of the
national park.
The old lighthouse was launched in 1860 only to be decommissioned
for 40 years and dozens of shipwrecks too late after studies proved that its
high altitude posed a great danger to sailors around the cape as they couldn't
be able to see it in cloudy weather conditions. A new lighthouse was built at a
much lower altitude. We proceed to Boulders Beach at the penguin colony home to
a thousand African penguins. Here you will walk on the beach and take close-up
photos of one of our flightless birds. While driving past Muizenberg Beach, we
will stop for photos at St James Beach known for the colorful beach huts. The
huts were used for changing rooms by sunbathers and are still used for the same
reason up until today. At our last stop, explore the garden with a guided tour
conducted by your tour guide. Time permitting. After a full day tour of Cape
Peninsula, you will be dropped off at the same location picked up in Cape Town
and surrounding areas.
Day 3: Full Day Robben Island, Table Mountain & City Tour
Pick-up at your hotel for Robben Island and Table Mountain tour.
Arrive at Victoria and Alfred Waterfront where guests will take a ferry to
Robben Island. Embark on the ferry at Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island
for approximately 3 to 4 hours guided experience and visit Nelson Mandela,
other activists, and politicians who were incarcerated during the apartheid
regime. Kindly note that your driver guide will not be escorting you to the
island as they have their own guides in place. Upon return from the Robben On
island tour, guests can grab a sandwich or light lunch at a nearby restaurant
(as per your own account). We make a stop at Bo-Kaap for a photo opportunity.
We proceed to Table Mountain, take a cable car with your guide escorting you
for maximum experience. Thereafter, guests will be dropped off at their location
in Cape Town
Day 4: Full Day Winelands Tour
After pick-up, we enjoy our full-day Winelands tour
following Stellenbosch, Paarl, and Franschhoek wine route. Taste up to 5 wine
estates and 3 wine tastings are included. After pick-up we will travel along
the N2, enjoying the scenic driver thereafter we stop at DeMorgenzon Wine
Estate in Stellenbosch. The wine estate is unique in having musical speakers
playing soft classical music spreading across the vineyards. DeMorgenzon Wine
Estate produces one of the best Chenin Blanc wines within the region. We proceed
to Marianne Wine Estate for a wine tasting paired with local biltong. At
Marianne, they believe that pairing different types of biltong with red wine
enhances the flavors of their wines. Marianne's Floreal wine was handpicked by
Chef Gordon Ramsay for former president Nelson Mandela's 91st Birthday.
Continuing to Fairview Vineyards and Goats Cheese for wine taste paired with
cheese. Guests are welcome to purchase their favorite cheese and condiments
from the deli, and wine from the choice of 3 ranges in the wine tasting room.
Along the route, we stop at the front of Drakenstein Prison
to see the Nelson Mandela Monument. The prison is where Nelson Mandela spent
his last few days of incarceration before he walked to freedom. After a 1 hour
30 minutes’ lunch exploring Franschoek, we proceed to visit Mont Rochelle Wine
Estate owned by Sir Richard Branson. The previous owner was Miko Rwayitare and
the estate still has the restaurant and wine named after Miko. Our last stop at
Delaire Graff for the last wine tasting for the day. The estate stands as one
of the most exquisite wine estates one can visit in Cape Winelands. Thereafter
we proceed to Cape Town for drop off at the hotel.
Day 5: Airport Transfer – Fly to Eastgate Airport (Hoedspruit)
After breakfast and check-out, you will be collected at the
hotel for a transfer to the airport. Upon arrival, check-in for your domestic
flight to Eastgate Airport as per your arrangements. Upon arrival, you will be
met by your ranger/guide for a game drive transfer to Simbavati. Enter
Timbavati Gate to the lodge, upon arrival at the lodge. Check-in at Simbavati
Hilltop Lodge for 3 nights on a fully inclusive basis. After a light lunch, we
will embark on the first full safari game drive for 3-hour before the game
starts the ranger guide will advise guests about the do and don’ts during the
drive. During the game drive, we will traverse over 12,000 hectares of the
big-5 game country, with lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo as well as
other species such as wild dogs, cheetah, kudu, zebra, warthog, giraffe, and
monkey namely. Bird viewing is spectacular, with over 360 recorded species
including various eagles, vultures, kingfishers, woodpeckers, buzzards, herons,
egrets, owls, weavers. Keep your cameras ready for the elusive leopard who may
be hiding in a tree or the roaring lion seeking out its prey in the bush. Upon
our return to the lodge, we are welcomed with a warm refresh towel. Enjoy
dinner and rest for the next early morning safari.
Day 6 & 7: Timbavati Game Reserve
Early morning wake-up call approximately 05:00 am during
summer and 05:30 am in winter seasons. Enjoy rusks, biscuits, coffee, and tea
before we depart for our drive. We will traverse over 12,000 hectares of the
big-5 game country, with lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo as well as
other species such as wild dogs, cheetah, kudu, zebra, warthog, giraffe, and
monkey namely. Bird viewing is spectacular, with over 360 recorded species
including various eagles, vultures, kingfishers, woodpeckers, buzzards, herons,
egrets, owls, weavers. Keep your cameras ready for the elusive leopard who may
be hiding in a tree or the roaring lion seeking out its prey in the bush.
Return to the lodge and we are welcomed with a warm towel for our full
breakfast. Enjoy leisure at the pool. Thereafter we depart for our sunset game
drive and return for dinner.
Day 8: Airport Transfer – Johannesburg Arrival
Early morning wake-up call approximately 05:00 am during
summer and 05:30 am in winter seasons. Enjoy rusks, biscuits, coffee, and tea
before we depart for our drive. After the 3-hour game drive, we return to the
lodge and we are welcomed with a warm towel for our full breakfast. After
refreshing, guests will check out and the ranger will transfer the guests to Eastgate
Airport. Upon arrival, check in for your flight to Johannesburg as per your own
arrangement. Arrive at OR Tambo International Airport your driver/guide will
meet you by the domestic arrival and transfer you to Sandton. Check-in at The
Maslow Hotel, check-in for 2 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. Rest of the
day leisure.
Day 9: Afternoon Soweto and Johannesburg Tour
After breakfast, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure or
shopping at Sandton City Centre. Thereafter, in the afternoon you will be
collected at the hotel by your driver-guide for an afternoon tour of Soweto and
Johannesburg. Our journey begins at Soweto exploring the struggles of the
apartheid regime. During this tour, guests will get a taste of the vibrant
lifestyle of Soweto and Johannesburg. Visit the Hector Pieterson Museum and
Memorial, at this site, a share of apartheid history during the times of the
Soweto Uprising in 1976. Processed downwards to Vilakazi Street mostly known
for its Nobel-prize winners and the abundance of restaurants as well as
entertainment by the locals, visit the Mandela House where he spent his first
few nights after his release from prison. Thereafter, enjoy dinner at Lebo’s
Backpackers offering African traditional cuisines and get to taste African Beer.
We will proceed the rest of the afternoon driving through Johannesburg to
drop-off at the hotel.
Day 10: Airport Transfer
After breakfast and check-out, you will be collected at the
hotel for a transfer to the airport. Upon arrival, check-in for your International
flight departing OR Tambo International Airport as per your arrangements.
