Day-by-Day Itinerary
Fly from Johannesburg to Skukuza or Kruger Mpumalanga International, then transfer to Savanna Private Game Reserve. Check in to your suite, have lunch on the deck and meet your ranger. The afternoon drive is often your first introduction to the area's relaxed, habituated leopards.
Start the day with a dawn drive while lion and hyena are still moving. Your tracker sits on the front of the vehicle reading fresh spoor, and your ranger can go off-road to follow animals into the bush. Afternoons are for the pool, then an evening drive and a boma dinner.
Swap the vehicle for a guided morning walk, learning to identify tracks, dung and birdsong. After brunch and a rest, the evening drive goes in search of anything still missing from your list, often rhino or a cheetah moving across the open areas. The night ends with dinner on the deck.
Enjoy a final morning game drive and breakfast before transferring to the airstrip or Skukuza for your flight. Connections are easy to Cape Town, Johannesburg and Victoria Falls.
