Day-by-Day Itinerary
A private guide meets you at George Airport and drives you to Phantom Forest Eco Reserve. Suites are raised on stilts among the trees, with views over the Knysna River estuary. Dinner is a multi-course meal in the forest restaurant.
Spend the morning on a private boat cruise across the lagoon to the Knysna Heads. In the afternoon, join a guided walk through the reserve to learn about the forest's birds and plants. Sundowners are served on a deck above the estuary.
Take a full-day excursion to Tsitsikamma National Park for the suspension bridge, kayaking up the Storms River gorge and a canopy tour. Lunch is a picnic in the forest. Return to Phantom Forest in the evening.
Head to Plettenberg Bay for a boat-based whale and dolphin cruise. From July to November, southern right and humpback whales are often seen close to the boat. In the afternoon, walk the Robberg Peninsula.
Spend a slow day at the lodge's spa, or walk the Knysna forest trails. Optional extras include horse riding or a visit to an elephant sanctuary. Dinner is served on your private deck.
Drive west to the Wilderness area to canoe on the lakes and explore the coastal dunes. Lunch is at a lakeside café. Return to Knysna for the evening.
Enjoy a free day for beaches, shopping or extra activities. Your farewell dinner is in the forest restaurant.
After breakfast, your private guide returns you to George Airport.
