Ezulwini Billy's Lodge:

Ezulwini Billy's Lodge offers a combination of romance and adventure with 3 Luxury Suites with private deck plunge pools and 3 Luxury Chalets with unadulterated views of the surrounding bushveld. The lodge has an entertainment area including a lounge, bar, and a swimming pool, all housed under a traditional thatched roof. Ezulwini Billy's Lodge has a stylish dining deck is set in riverine vegetation and our skywalk allows you to walk above the animals grazing on the riverbank. The luxury rooms offer an overview of the Olifants River and the elevated thatched viewing deck overlooks the local waterhole summing to intimate ambiance to this lodge accommodating 16 guests. Twice daily game drives and 3 meals daily allow just enough time for guests to settle down at the lodge and relax by the lounge areas, or in their exquisite bedrooms, and absorb the ambiance of the Balule bushveld. The game drives introduce guests to the abundance of wildlife species found in this exclusive Greater Kruger, the guests will encounter Africa Big5 lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard and also hippo, crocodile, and other animal species. 

Luxury Suites and Chalets:

Standard Rooms

All 3 standard rooms at Billy's Lodge are en suite and equipped with insect-proof window screens, mosquito nets, air-conditioning, overhead fans, and a hot beverage station. Mini fridges are also installed in the rooms for cold drinks, and there are cupboards for clothing storage. One room opens up onto the main swimming pool, while the other two are thatched rondavels with tiled floors and a veranda each. Each en suite bathroom is equipped with a shower, but no bath.

Luxury Suites

There are 3 luxury suites at Billy's Lodge, each of which enjoys private plunge pools, wooden decks, and sun loungers, as well as en suite bathrooms. Suites are thatched and spacious, including a private indoor lounge area, and walk-in cupboard space. Bathrooms include free-standing bathtubs with an open-air shower outside. Large glass sliding doors allow for great views, while mini-fridges, hot beverage facilities, air conditioning, and overhead fans offer comfort.

A typical morning at Billy’s Lodge begins with a wake-up call for an early morning game drive and ends with a few drinks around the traditional boma fire under a star-filled sky. Below is a summary of how a typical day is structured at the lodge.

05h00 Wake up call

05h30 Rusks, tea, and coffee at the lodge

06h00 Depart for a game drive

08h30-09h00 Return to the lodge after game drive and take some time to freshen up before breakfast

09h30-10h30 Breakfast is served on the deck in the sunshine, or on the shaded veranda overlooking the surrounding bush

10h30-14h00 Leisure time during which guests may relax in their rooms, at the lodge, at the pool, or on the lookout deck

14h00-15h00 Lunch is served on the deck in the sunshine

15h30 Afternoon tea served just before departing for a game drive

16h00 Depart the lodge for an afternoon game drive, during which time guests stop for sundowners and enjoy a short night drive upon return to camp

19h30-20h00 Return to the lodge after game drive and spend a few minutes refreshing or having a drink at the bar before dinner is served

20h30 Gather in the boma and take your seats in the dining area while dinner is served

Balule Nature Reserve entrance fee of R80 per vehicle and R185 per person, payable in cash or credit card (MasterCard and Visa only) payable direct at the Olifants West Gate.
